One year ago artist Rebecca Nesbitt Prosino found herself living abroad in Lake Como, Italy… during a pandemic. During this time Rebecca grew from a hobbyist painter to artist. These works are the Paper Trail of her internal journey.
In this exhibition iconic and quotidian Italian subject matter are rendered on paper in a high-chroma, graphical water medium called gouache.
“When we moved from Shreveport to Como, I arrived with the grand idea of reinventing myself in art. No sooner had we gotten our feet under us than the pandemic hit and granted me the opportunity to “become an artist” through sustained daily practice.”
I am grateful to collector friends who’ve encouraged me, my husband for protecting my studio space in the middle of our living room, my friend Mary for receiving my daily texts last spring, and SRAC for welcoming me home with open arms.
