Am I an Northwest Louisiana Artist?

To be considered a NWLA Artist, you must have established residence in and must have lived at least 12 consecutive months in one of the 10 parishes in Northwest Louisiana (Region 7).

Parishes include: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, Desoto, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Webster.

Artists of all disciplines and at all career levels, from emerging to professional are welcome.

How Do I Get Started
Working With the Arts Council?

Artists must complete the Northwest Louisiana Juried Artists’ Directory application: Including the submission of:

  1. An Artist Statement

  2. Artist Resume’

  3. Samples of work in accordance to submission requirements in the Directory Application.

Artists must be at least 21 years of age.

Artist must agree to terms of service to be accepted to the Northwest Louisiana Artists’ Directory.

Take Your Art Business Skills
to the Next Level!

Artist UP! Arts Entrepreneurial Training will level up skills and experience of emerging artists through a series of courses/classes at the Central ARTSTATION. (currently being taught via ZOOM)

Led by renowned Dallas, Texas curator and mixed media artist Lesli Marshall, this 9 week (once a week) course promises to deliver strategies for increasing earned income for artists from the production, marketing, distribution of Art by at least 30% within one year of course completion.

It is a goal of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council to strengthen the professional arts community in order to advance the Arts, and maximize access to the Arts, for the people of Shreveport, Bossier and Northwest Louisiana.

Graduates will create a marketing portfolio and take part in a group exhibition at the Central ARTSTATION.
