KAT Residency artist Dominique McLemore will take center stage, guiding attendees on a journey of creativity, introspection, and artistic exploration. The event commences with an insightful artist talk, where Dominique will share his personal journey and the innovative concept of "Impact Art." The term, coined by a colleague, has become the cornerstone of Dominique's creative process, encapsulating introspective expression, life experiences, and unique perspectives. His works delve into societal, political, and occasionally taboo subjects, reflecting a range of emotions – from inspiration and pain to the sheer essence of human existence.
Dominique's art is a platform for initiating dialogues, eliciting emotions, and encouraging independent thought among viewers. His boundary-breaking approach knows no artistic limits. Experimentation is at the heart of his practice, as he fearlessly explores various mediums – acrylic paint and canvas, pastel chalk and paper, and even 3D installations. He sees hisself as a vessel, dedicated to creating without constraints, and aspires to leave an indelible mark on the world through his creations.
