(Shreveport, LA)  In the 1950s and 60s, if you spun a record or plugged a platter in Shreveport or Bossier City you bought your records from Stan "The Record Man" Lewis. Most musicians credit "Uncle Stan" with helping them get their start by either co-writing, recording, publishing or distributing their music. On August 20th, the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC), the Caddo Parish Commission, and City of Shreveport will present the third Stan "The Record Man" Lewis Festival to salute this vinyl icon of the music industry who has spent more than 70 years at the top of the charts.

There will be a whole lot of shaking going on in downtown Shreveport from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 20th. The Stan Lewis Festival is the headliner with live music from local and national artists, historic tunes played by musical archivist Chris Brown, a Record Ruckus Vinyl Shop in downtown artspace, a food truck court, one-of-a-kind Arts Market, and a chance to meet Stan “The Record Man” himself!  Plus a brand new twist has been added to this year's festival that will have you slip-sliding your way downtown.

Slide the City on 1,000 Ft of Vinyl, Swap Vinyl Recordings of Stan "The Record Man Lewis" and Pay Tribute to Prince with Purple Reign All In Downtown Shreveport August 20th.
