NWLA Artists Directory

THE NORTHWEST LOUISIANA ARTISTS’ DIRECTORY is a project of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. The Northwest Louisiana (Region 7) Artists’ Directory is designed to recognize artists from all art disciplines and media in Northwest Louisiana. The opportunities, guidelines, and online application associated with the Northwest Louisiana Artists Directory can be found on the Shreveport Regional Arts Council website (www.shrevearts.org). Directory submissions are accepted year round and automatically added to the Directory within 48 hours of submission.

ELIGIBILITY

Participation in the Directory is free of charge.

The artist must have established residence in and must have lived at least 12 consecutive months in one of the 10 parishes in Northwest Louisiana (Region 7). Parishes include: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, Desoto, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Webster.

The artist must complete the Northwest Louisiana Juried Artists’ Directory application: Including the submission of an Artist Statement, Resume’ and Samples of work in accordance to submission requirements in the Directory Application.

All artists must be at least 21 years of age.

Artist must agree to terms of service to be accepted to the Northwest Louisiana Artists’ Directory.

Acceptance to the Northwest Louisiana Artists’ Directory provides the following benefits:

1. Promotion on the Shreveport Regional Arts Council Directory.
2. Invitations to all arts events that the Shreveport Regional Arts Council produces.
3. Up to date information on grants, funding and opportunities.
4. Monthly online newsletter promoting opportunities for artists in the Region.
5. The opportunity to be accepted to the Northwest Juried Artists’ Roster.

ACCEPTANCE TO THE JURIED ARTISTS’ ROSTER

During the Spring and Fall of each year, the Northwest Louisiana Juried Artists Roster will select a jury of out-of-town judges that will review the Directory for the entries of the new artists who have submitted during the previous year, and this jury will determine who will be added to the Juried Artist Roster.

1. Promotion on the Shreveport Regional Arts Council Directory WEBSITE.
2. The Artists’ Card
   As a member of the Juried Artists’ Roster you will receive the official Artist Card which provides Free Admission to all artspace Exhibition Openings and ArtHouse. In addition you will have access to special events pre-identified via invitation. *Does not apply to fundraising events including but not limited to ArtScare or Christmas In the Sky.
3. The opportunity to be featured as the “Artist of the Month” on the SRAC website.
4. Expedited “qualifying procedures” for most of the “Calls” for public art commissions, teaching opportunities, exhibitions, and the new opportunities that await artists in Northwest Louisiana.
5. First news about “Calls”, grant opportunities and other professional development for Artists.
6. Monthly online newsletter promoting opportunities for artists in the Region
7. Participation in setting policies and guidelines for the growth of the ARTS Northwest Louisiana! The NW Louisiana Juried Artist meets monthly to discuss opportunities for artists and policies that will drive growth for the Arts.
8. An expedited application process for giftspace and coolspace located within artspace - 710 Texas Street.
9. Invitations to all arts events that the Shreveport Regional Arts Council produces.
